MAY 6th – 8th MAY 2011 Bratislava, SLOVAKIA
During the 2011 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia we will be hosting the IIHF international Coaching Symposium in Bratislava from the 6th – 8th of May 2011. This year’s Symposium will focus on all the different aspects of the game: Physical, Mental, Technical, Tactical and Theoretical and how they relate to the integration of young players into the professional game.
In the last few years the game of ice hockey, as well as other team sports, has become much faster. With new rule interpretation, the importance of skill has become much more significant. Not only has the level of skills improved, but also the speed at which they are needed. Players, coaches and conditioning coaches are always looking for ways to improve the athletic development of themselves and their athletes. We will combine scientific research with the experience of top trainers, to find the best ways to train our athlete’s injury free. Including presentations on the off-ice conditioning program of NHL St. Louis Blues goalie J. Halak’s with his personal trainer and individual skill acquisition in Slovak NTDP U20.
During the symposium we will be hosting an Exhibition Trade Fair. This will give the coaches the opportunity to see and experience the latest in technology and products in and around the world of ice hockey, plus also providing the coaches a chance to meet coaches from other countries. We are trying to make this symposium as practical as possible. The accommodation at the Hotel Dom Sportu is in the same building as the lecture hall and is 5 minutes walking distance from the Ice Hockey Arena.
As for to today we have confirmed following speakers:
S. Norris – CAN
D. Benicky – CAN/SVK
D. Nelson – USA
J. Doyle – USA
L. Bukac jr. – CZE
J. Brithen – SWE
