Volunteers

Hello hockey fans,

Now is your chance to become a VOLUNTEER! Everyone who wants to become a part of the hockey family in Bratislava may send their CV to the following address: [email protected]. The last day for registration is Friday the 18^th of March 2011.

At that email address you will find more information about volunteer work, later you will fill out the registration form in the special online system in which your skills and qualifications for volunteer work are specified in more detail starts in October. You will also be provided information on the criteria to be met.

Volunteers should be motivated, friendly and accommodating. In addition, all applicants must be at least 18 years of age, of good moral character and be able to get by in foreign languages (English in particular). Experience with voluntary work is welcome For you as a volunteer one point of importance is that all activities are to performed remuneration free – including travel and accommodation expenses.

The selection process runs responsibly on the basis of specific criteria for each area individually. The criteria will change according to the position. In certain cases the knowledge of languages will be decisive, manual endurance will be decisive in logistical positions. Image will not be a criteria. Discrimination on the basis of education will not be used in the selection of volunteers, nor any other form of discrimination.

After the18th of March there will be known all the names of the selected volunteers. You will be informed as to whether you have become an official VOLUNTEER via an email from: [email protected] from the IIHF 2011 World Championship special volunteer team. If you are one of the lucky people selected, you will go on to become a volunteer in Bratislava. You will receive the opportunity of getting up close to championship organisation, and what's more - become an inseparable part of it.

As a selected volunteer you will undergo an interview in English, or another foreign language to help us ascertain the level of your language skills on the basis of which you will be assigned a section.

For selected volunteers specialist training has been prepared as well as seminars for individual sections. You will be trained in March and April, all information trought the IIHF 2011 World Championship special volunteer team and email address:  [email protected]

As a volunteer you will receive official IIHF 2011 World Championship accreditation. Rewards include caps, polo shirts and jackets from the 2010 IIHF World Championship sponsor You will also be provided with warm food and drinks. After the conclusion of the championship, you will also receive a volunteer certificate.

A special 2010 IIHF World Championship Organizing Comittee volunteer team  will oversee your work as well as care for the volunteers throughout the entire World Championship.

At the end of the championship you can look forward to a farewell party for volunteers prepared by the 2010 IIHF World Championship Organizing Comittee.
