Eighty days before the start of the 2011 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia (29.4.-15.5.2011), the final phase of ticket sales was launched. Tickets for individual championship games was available for purchase from 1st of February after 12pm. In the first 4 hours of sales some 6902 individual game tickets found new owners.
“The greatest interest was in Bratislava for the eighth final 1D vs. 2A game on May the 6th at 16:15, in Košice fans were mostly interested in the Canada-Switzerland game.” stated Head of Financing and Ticketing Zuzana Kelecsényiová. This brings the ticket sale total to 211902.
“The interest in Košice particularly made us happy. It’s surprising that the largest interest was in the Canada game,” said championship general director Igor Nemeček.
The current, third phase of sales was preceded by group ticket sales (27th September 2010) and day ticket sales (from the 1st of December 2010).
Tickets for individual preliminary groups in Bratislava cost 55 (1) and 40 Euros (II) and in Košice 55 and 30 Euros respectively. Quarterfinal tickets are available for 100 and 83 Euros, semi-final tickets 150 and 112 Euros. Bronze game tickets 120 and 90 Euros and final tickets cost 250 and 188 Euros. The lowest cost tickets are for qualification/relegation rounds. Bratislava tickets will be on sale for 19 and 14 Euros and Košice tickets for 19 and 10 Euros.
The 2011 IIHF World Championship Organizing Committee would like to inform fans that Ticketportal is the official ticket sales partner. The sales partner is authorised to add processing fees of up to three percent (plus VAT) to the initial price.
