On Friday noon, a three-day site visit the participants of which were 7 European TV companies, finished in Košice.

On Friday, representatives of seven TV companies finished their site visit of the sites of the forthcoming 2011 IIHF World Championship that will take place in Bratislava and Košice (29.4.-15.5.2011).

The participants of this coordination meeting were also representatives of IIHF; Infront Sports & Media, the marketing company; Mediatec, the host broadcaster. The purpose of the meeting was to present to the TV companies conditions for their work in both arenas and to summarize requests of the TV rights holders.

Representatives of seven TV companies from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland and representatives of the Slovak Radio visited Steel Arena with the builded training arena  on Friday. On Thursday the group of almost  35 members saw the Orange Arena in Bratislava. The group could see the spaces for mixed zone and flash zone, tribunes for commentators, places for TV studios, press center, main ice rink as well as practice ice rink and also place for the TV compound.

„The final result of the site visit is that although everything was prepared on a high standard and although we are highly satisfied such a survey of three days means, that real work starts now,“ said Joachim Herzer, the director of winter sports Infront Sports & Media. „After having identified and specified all areas necessary for media there is a big load of work for all involved  in the preparations for the IIHF World Championship. After having worked for the IIHF WM for the last 15 years, the preparations here are well advanced, the overall atmosphere is very positive and we all with my collegues  are looking forward for the 2011 IIHF WM,“ added Joachim Herzer.

The representatives of the TV companies will return to Slovakia next February to see finished Orange Arena and make their potential requests more specific.
