From Wednesday 1st of December day tickets for the championship will be on sale.
Exactly 149 days before the 2011 IIHF World Championship starts (29.4.-15.5.2011), the second phase of ticket sales starts on Wednesday the 1st of December 2010 at 12:00. Day tickets will be on sale, meaning that potential buyers will be able to buy tickets for specific championship days.
The cheapest day tickets will cost €35 – for a pair of tickets for qualifying/relegation round in Košice (category 2). Day tickets for preliminary round matches will be on sale for €96 (category 1, Bratislava/Košice), €70 (category 2, Bratislava) and €53 (category 2, Košice). Round tickets and event passes for the entire event shall remain on sale.
The interest in tickets continues to be great, with some 135 000 tickets sold in the first two months alone. “We believe that as soon as day tickets become available, sales will strengthen in Košice. We have heard that many fans have been waiting for this moment,” said OC Chairman Igor Nemeček. “There is a similar situation with group D in Bratislava where all the teams have very strong fan bases,” added Igor Nemeček.
The organizers are expecting around 350 000 spectators in the two Bratislava and Košice championship venues. A total of more than 392 000 tickets are set to be sold. Some 800 million TV viewers should tune in to the 56 televised games.

Upon purchasing day tickets the purchaser receives two or three individual tickets for the respective day based on the official game schedule. A maximum of 6 packages of tickets can be reserved. Tickets can be reserved up to 7 days in advance. Tickets can be paid for via the internet or in person at Ticketportal outlets.
