On January 13 and 14, Petter Salsten, sports director of the Norwegian Ice Hockey Federation, and Roy Johanses, the Norwegian Ice Hockey team coach, visited Kosice.

They wanted to see how the city, the arena and the hotel are prepared for the upcoming 2011 IIHF World Championship.

After the site visit, they appreciated what they saw. „Yasmin hotel, where our team will stay, offers us a maximum hinterland and comfort. As for the Steel Arena, we were really surprised by the dressing room. We have not had so much room available yet. It is great that there will be same conditions for the teams from the lower ranks of the world chart as for the top ones in Kosice,“ summed Roy Johansen.
