Volunteers form an inseparable part of all great sporting events around the world. The unique 2011 IIHF World Championship, Slovakia  would not be possible without volunteers. Due to unceasing interest in volunteer work the 2011 IIHF World Championship Organizing Committee has decided to give more potential volunteers the chance to become part of the WM.

The selection of volunteers is to take place in two phases. “Most of the positions are full. The first volunteer training sessions have already taken place and were very successful. Due to the fact that school exams have been shifted to the same dates as the championship we have lost a number of people who have had to put their education before their volunteer work. What’s more, a number of new positions have opened up, so we have decided to additionally allow people to apply for volunteer positions,” said volunteer manager Zuzana Jánošová.

This offer is only valid for Bratislava. Volunteers interested in the Bratislava positions may send their CV to the following address up until the 18th of March: [email protected].

Volunteers should be motivated, friendly and accommodating. In addition, all applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the 2011 IIHF World Championship, of good moral character and be able to get by in foreign languages (English in particular). Experience with voluntary work is welcome. One other important criteria is flexible working time – i.e. being available throughout all or the majority of championship days.
