NUREMBERG, Germany – The Sinupret Ice Tigers Nuremberg re-activated their captain from last season, Canadian Christian Laflamme.

The 31-year-old returned to his native country after three years in Nuremberg, but will return to play the Champions Hockey League Qualification September 12-14, which is hosted by the Ice Tigers.

Head coach Andreas Brockmann is looking forward to having Laflamme back on the team for the important international challenge: “Christian is a top defenceman. He has much experience and he will fit perfectly into his old team and be able to help us immediately.”

“It’s a gigantic opportunity to showcase the club on the international scene. Financially, it would be of great benefit to qualify for the main stage of the Champions Hockey League, therefore we shouldered this financial burden”, said club owner Günther Hertel.

The Ice Tigers also extended a try-out contract with Robert Francz, who came from Duisburg through December 2008.
