DRESDEN, Germany – From 2-8 June, the 2013 IIHF InLine Hockey World Championship awaits hockey fans in Dresden, and the city’s mayor has just been announced as the patron of the international event.

This support from Helma Orosz shows how important the championship is for the capital of Saxony. When the 16 teams are competing to become world champion and Division I champion, Orosz will also pay visit to the event, which will take place in the Energie Verbund Arena.

Tickets for the event are available at pre-sale ticket agencies and online on www.inlinewm.de and www.tickets.de.

“We have created a variety of offers and hope to fulfil all needs,” said Dr Peter Micksch, President of the Organizing Committee.

On the opening day, 2nd June, a family package will be available. With this ticket for €20, two adults and three kids can attend all games on that day and enjoy the social program which is taking place in conjunction with the games.

“At the Family Day, kids and adults will be able to test their skills on a mini hockey rink and master an obstacle course on inline skates,” said Micksch. “The police will prepare a road traffic regulation course for bikers and inline skaters. Even the fire department will give the audience a chance to see how they work. Furthermore, the social program will include a jumping castle, face painting, and a shoot-out challenge for football and inline hockey.”

The organizing committee is running full-scale preparations to host the event, and it is still looking for additional volunteers. “Such an important, large-scale event can only be organized with many helpers,” said Micksch. “The volunteers are the faces of the tournament, and without them the event could not take place.”
