HELSINKI – Phoenix Coyotes forward Lauri Korpikoski will join the Finnish national team in Helsinki.

The 26-year-old Finn cleared his medicals in Phoenix, and will travel to Helsinki as soon as possible, but won’t be available for the hosts’ opening game against Germany on Friday.

Korpikoski missed a month of action due to a concussion, returned to the Coyotes’ four last regular season games but didn’t record a point. He scored five goals and 11 points in 36 games with the Coyotes.
