CHICAGO – The Chicago Blackhawks, who will play the
Victoria Cup against European club champion ZSC Lions Zurich at the end of September, announced on Monday the signing of four prospects.
The Blackhawks will play CHL champion ZSC Lions Zurich on September 29 at Zurich’s Hallenstadion. They will also meet Swiss champion HC Davos in an exhibition game the day before.

Jonathan Carlsson, 20, has spent the last three seasons in the Swedish Elitserien, posting one assist in 55 games with Brynäs Gävle last year. The Uppsala native was the Blackhawks’ fourth choice, 162nd overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He was on the Swedish team that won silver at the 2008 IIHF World U20 Championship.
Canadian
Rob Klinkhammer, 23, tied for fifth on the AHL's Rockford IceHogs with a career high 15 goals and ranked seventh with a career-best 33 points in 76 games last season. The Lethbridge native had a +14 plus/minus rating during the regular season before dishing out one assist in four Calder Cup Playoff tilts. He has appeared in 142 AHL games over the last two seasons with the Norfolk Admirals (2007-08) and IceHogs, with 57 points (27G, 30A).
American
Brian Connelly, 22, made his debut with Rockford last season, getting three points (1G, 2A) in nine regular-season games. He was signed to an Amateur Tryout Contract on March 23. Prior to joining the IceHogs, the Bloomington native finished his third season with Colorado College, leading team defencemen with 24 assists and 27 points in 38 games. Connelly had 66 points (9G, 57A) in 123 career games with Colorado College in four years.
American goalkeeper
Alec Richards, 21, capped a four-year career at Yale University this past spring, notching a 19-5-1 record with a 2.06 GAA and a 92.3 saves percentage, leading the club to the ECAC title. The Robbinsdale native finished his career (2005-09) at Yale as the school’s all-time leader in saves percentage (92.3) and shutouts (six), while ranking second in wins (39) and GAA (2.68).
