STOCKHOLM – Individual game tickets will be on sale as of Monday, 27th February for the games of the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Stockholm, an event jointly hosted by Finland and Sweden in May.
Single-game tickets for Helsinki have already been made available earlier this year.
The release of tickets for individual games is in line with the plans of the organising committee. Ticket packages for Stockholm have been sold since last May.
“Our goal from the start was to fill the Globe Arena during the World event and the next stage is to sell the remaining individual tickets for each game played in Stockholm,” said Lars G. Karlsson, General Secretary of the Swedish organising committee.
So far, some 120,000 of the 300,000 available tickets in Stockholm have been sold, including all of the most exclusive seats. There are still tickets available for all games.
The opening game will be played in 70 days on 4th May in the Stockholm group that also includes Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Latvia, Denmark and Italy.
“With the single-game tickets now on sale, a family of four can see a game with the home team Sweden for less than 1600 SEK (€170)," said Christer Englund, Chairman of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and of the Swedish organizing committee.
