STOCKHOLM – The 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship in Sweden will be hosted by Malmö in April 2015.
The event has already been assigned to Sweden previously. Now the Swedish Ice Hockey Association selected Malmö as the place to showcase the event. The city in southern Sweden that is connected with the Danish capital of Copenhagen with a bridge will already host the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship next winter.
The venues for the Women’s World Championship will be Malmö Isstadion and Rosengårds Ishall.
“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase world class women’s ice hockey, and also to show that we are good organizers of championships of this dignity,” says Mikael Peterson, General Secretary of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.
Sweden already hosted the Women’s World Championship once, in 2005 in Norrköping and Linköping. |
