STOCKHOLM – Canada will add defencemen P.K. Subban of the Montrea Canadiens to its roster.
Subban will arrive in Sweden on Tuesday. After his addition Canada will have 24 players on its roster and can still add an additional skater.
Subban, who turns 24 today, tied with Pittsburgh’s Kristopher Letang for the lead in scoring among all NHL defencemen in 2012/2013, with 38 points, and is a finalist for the Norris Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s top defenceman.
Subban played for Canada at the 2008 and 2009 IIHF World Junior Championships, winning gold twice. He was originally named to Canada’s roster for the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, but was unable to play due to injury. |
