An important part when the World Championship organization began its work for 2013 was to involve all of Sweden in the 2013 World Championship. All the clubs of Elitserien through Hockeyligan and clubs of Allsvenskan through their association Hockeyallsvenskan have been in touch with the World Championship organization to help spread information about the World Championships.
As a thank you both Hockeyligan and Hockeyallsvenskan get one day where they can invite their sponsors and other interested parties to a day in Globen.
“We think it is incredible important to get Ice hockey Sweden involved in the World Championship preparations. Among hockey clubs, we have a lot of fans and the audience in stadiums across Sweden is also interested in the Swedish national team,” says Tony Wiréhn, General Secretary of the World Championship organization in Sweden.
In total the tour will log over a thousand miles in car and a couple of flights around Sweden, when the World Championship tour travels through Sweden. Project manager Anna Sjöberg and her team made their first visit in Gävle last week.
The World Championship mascot, who still doesn’t have a name, will be joining the tour. At each venue the World Championship organization hired a youth team from the place that will help to distribute World Championship folders with price information and game schedule.
The tour will go on during the fall and winter from Malmö in south to Haparanda in north. There is an opportunity to win tickets for the World Championships and of course tickets are being sold for those who want to make sure to get good seats in Globen in May 2013.
