StructureThe International Ice Hockey Federation is the official organizer of the IIHF World Championships.
In May 2004, the IIHF Congress appointed the Swiss Ice Hockey Association SIHA as organizer of the 2009 IIHF World Championship.
The IIHF transferred the exclusive commercial rights for the 2009 IIHF World Championship to Infront Sports and Media AG.
The SIHA and Infront entrusted the organization and running of the 2009 IIHF World Championship to a purposely founded limited company named Organizing Committee 2009 IIHF World Championship AG. The SIHA and Infront are equal partners and each hold 50% of the voting shares.
