Victoria Cup 2008 is taking place at the newly rebuilt PostFinance-Arena in Bern, Switzerland on September 30th / October 1st and features the New York Rangers against SC Bern on the first night and against the defending European Club Champion HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from Russia on the second night.  The event features several “firsts” for Swiss ice hockey fans.  SC Bern has never played against an NHL squad.  And, the NHL has not played against a Russian Club anywhere in the world in the past 17 years.  This set up and the attractive side events make the Victoria Cup 2008 a “once in a lifetime” event.
