TAMPERE – Altogether 150 volunteers will be needed at the 2015 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship. Interested in joining the team in Tampere next summer?

The Inline Worlds in Tampere will bring together 16 teams representing 16 countries for the beginning of July. Altogether 150 volunteers are needed to take care of the teams and to run the event smoothly. Tasks vary from accreditation, ticket sales, team service and transportation to many other tasks in the event organization.

In order to join the Inline Worlds’ volunteer team one needs to be over 16 years of age, friendly and out-going. Language skills are an advantage.

“This is an international event, so we need volunteers who speak different languages. Finnish skills are a bonus but not mandatory. However, the volunteer application is available only in Finnish, so one should be able to fill in the application,” General Secretary Teemu Vanhala says.

Although the work will be organized in shifts and there will be off-days during the tournament. It’s appreciated if one can commit to the task from the beginning of July until end of tournament on 12th July.

All volunteers will get an event outfit and warm meal during their shift. Compensation for travel or accommodation will not be paid.

“The event takes place during summer holidays, so this is a great chance to combine holiday and volunteering. I can truly recommend Inline Worlds for everybody – this is a great event, international yet small enough and the atmosphere is super relaxed,” says Vanhala with experience. He has participated in 13 Inline Hockey World Championships, in 2005 as a General Secretary and the other times as the Team Manager of Finnish team.
