HELSINKI/STOCKHOLM – Three teams have added players prior to the quarter-finals to complete their rosters.
As announced earlier Washington Capitals forwards Alexander Ovechkin and Alexander Syomin joined the Russian team and practised for the first time on Wednesday in a line with Pavel Datsyuk. They were registered on Thursday to play their first game against Norway.
After Nicklas Bäckström’s arrival for the last preliminary-round game Sweden added Cristopher Nihlstorp of Färjestad Karlstad as third goalkeeper. He has been with the team during the camp.
Also Canada registered a third goalkeeper, Matt Hackett of the Minnesota Wild. He has already been with the team.
The only quarter-final participants whose rosters are not full yet are Norway and USA, who can each register one more skater.
