ROUEN – The International Ice Hockey Federation is pleased to announce the release of official mobile application for the IIHF Continental Cup.

The free App is now available for download at the AppStore/iTunes and at the Google Play Store for use with Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android devices. It provides live score data, goal notification service, and real-time game statistics for Continental Cup games.

“We created this app as a way to provide quick and useful game updates for everybody who follows the Continental Cup,” says Martin Zoellner, IIHF IT Director, who led the project. “The Continental Cup App was created because we had an amazing feedback on the official IIHF App that is intent for World Championships, and we wanted to bring this experience to Continental Cup as well.”

Unlike similar apps, this app allows users to socialize by guessing game winners and check in for each game.

“We are looking forward to having this App not only for the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships but now also for the IIHF Continental Cup,” said Hans Dobida, Chairman of the 2014 IIHF Continental Cup Super Final. “We are happy to be back in Rouen with the great organization here and we feel that this could be the strongest Continental Cup Super Final ever with these four teams.”

The Super Final for this season of Continental Cup starts today with the games Donbass Donetsk against the Stavanger Oilers, and Rouen Dragons vs. Asiago Hockey.
