Thailand-Malaysia (April 1)

Thailand 6 - Malaysia 1

Two days before the big games begin the intensity is starting to rise in Chinese Taipei. The first game of the day seemed to be the one to define which of the teams would take the first position in Group B with Thailand taking a lead after seven minutes of play. The score remained 1-0 until early in the second period. Thailand was able to get a rebound goal in front of the net to make it 2-0. Malaysia answered only a minute later with a breakout goal to get back to the game, but was again two behind after a slapshot from the offensive zone face-off circle to make it 3-1 four minutes later. A heavy slapshot from the blueline three minutes before the end and a wrist shot from the slot one minute later took the game to the second intermission with Thailand leading 5-1. In third period, Thailand mostly controlled the events on ice making it 6-1 five minutes before the end.
