In the second game of the day, the host team China was set to challenge the reigning champion for the first edition of the tournament held in Korea. Japan came out strong in the first period taking a decisive 4-0 lead going to first intermission. Japan remained in control also in the second and third period outshooting their opponent 44-13 earning their first win with a clear 10-0 sweep against China. Yokuto Takami and Ikki Ikeda contributed with two goals each.
