+ Davos's road game on Januar 5 against Fribourg was cancelled due to flu epidemic in the HC Davos squad.
+ Davos forward Loic Burkhalter was traded to Rapperswil-Jona on January 2. HCD got forward Sven Helfenstein, 25, in return. But Helfenstein, who had three goals and nine assists in 29 games this season, is not eligibile to dress for Davos in the ECC as he joined the club well past the December 18 roster deadline. Davos lost to Kloten 3-1 on January 2 in Helfenstein's first game with his new club.
+ Prior to the ECC, Davos will be busy hosting the annual Spengler Cup over the holidays. The tournament is considered one of the most traditional in Swiss hockey.
+ In November, Davos lost six-straight games, it's worst losing streak in 14 seasons.
+ Forward Robin Leblanc is expected to miss the next three months of the season to undergo a shoulder surgery. He was injured during the Red Bull Salute in Salzburg.
+ It seems the exhibition tournament in Salzburg temporarily broke Davos' winning rhythm. Before the event, Davos was have four wins in five games. However, post-event, the squad has lost both of its league games.
+ HC Davos missed its chance to play against the NHL's Los Angeles Kings after losing against Sweden's Farjestad, 2-3, in a shootout. Had Davos won, they would have met the Kings in the final game of the exhibition tournament.
+ With Leonardo Genoni and Reto Berra (both born 1987) Davos has the two youngest goaltenders in the Swiss NLA. The pair have played on the same team throughout junior hockey and in the NLB. It is expected that they will split time evenly this season in net.
+ Starting his 11th season, head coach Arno Del Curto is the longest-standing coach in the Swiss League and among all of this year's ECC clubs.
+ This is HC Davos' second time playing in the ECC. The squad previously participated in 2006. Only two squads at this year's event, MODO and Metallurg have never played in the ECC before.
