Kuwait-Mongolia (April 3)

Kuwait 1 - Mongolia 4

In the first game of the day between Kuwait and Mongolia, the team having the most winter-like climate for ice hockey got an early start by taking a 0-1 lead in the game one and half minutes from the beginning and quickly making it 0-2 three minutes later. Kuwait, despite a day of rest, was not able to get their game going allowing one more for Mongolia to make it 0-3 after the first period. Mongolia, having played a couple of close games in the tournament but yet without a victory, continued strong in the second period getting a four-goal advantage within five minutes of play. In the end of the period, Kuwait was able to get its first on power play with four minutes remaining. In the third period, the teams seemed to be just playing to get the clock run down and despite some power-play opportunities there were no goals for either of teams sending Mongolia to play for the fifth position and Kuwait for seventh position in the tournament.
