Malaysia-Singapore (April 2)

Malaysia 3 - Singapore 3

In the third game of the day, Singapore started with determination against Malaysia to earn points to move past Macau in Group B and have a chance at getting some more games in the tournament. Malaysia, having already secured the 2nd position in the group, seemed to be saving its shots for the semi-finals and allowed Singapore to get two goals up within the first 15 minutes of play and take a hold on to that 4th position. Not until after 30 minutes of play, Malaysia was able to get in front of Singapore’s net to score the first goal. Five minutes later Singapore restored the two-goal lead before the second intermission. In the third period, Malaysia made things interesting ten minutes before the end by closing the gap down to one goal. With less than five minutes remaining, Malaysia got an equalizer and despite the man advantage at the end after having pulled the goalie, there were no more goals to help Singapore which ended up behind Macau with only two goals difference in the final standings.
