Hong Kong - United Arab Emirates 5-4

The second game of Day 1 was anticipated to be one of the deciding ones even for medals in the tournament. The United Arab Emirates started strong and took the lead at 2:53 with a goal from Juma Al Dhaheri, which remained the only one in the first period. With a strong second period from Hong Kong and goals by Yin Man Chan (2), Yannick Wong and Donald Tse, the set-up turned upside down with UAE trailing 4-1 going into the last period of the game. However, in the last period the Emirates, led by Suhail Al Mehairi (2 goals) and Al Dhaheri (1 goal), were able to bridge the gap down to one goal, but with a second goal from Wong, Hong Kong was able to protect its lead to take the three points in the game with a 5-4 win.
