India - Kuwait 2-39

The men from the Himalaya Mountains had another uphill battle ahead in front of chanting fans of the host team. Kuwait started strong taking a 6-0 lead already in the first 10 minutes of play and they eventually marched on with the scoring rally finishing just barely under 40-mark with 39 goals. Despite the result, India kept on giving all it had fiercely defending their net and enthusiastically using every chance to attack towards the opponents’ net. Decisiveness paid off at 49:01 with Mohamed Igbal scoring India’s first goal in the tournament with a shot from the blue line. At 59:59, it was history in making for Indian ice hockey at the international platform with Igbal scoring his second goal to make it 2-37 final score.
