Kuwait - Thailand 3-6

The last game of the day was the expected one with the host team Kuwait still having a chance to claim the title by winning the games against Thailand and Hong Kong. Despite, or perhaps due to exciting set up for the game, Kuwait was not able to get their game going in the first period. Thailand took the lead by capitalizing on its opponents’ mistakes and on power play opportunities. With goals from Likit Neimwan and Tewin Chartsuwan (2) Thailand led 3-0 going into first intermission. Without goals in the second period, Thailand came out strong in to the third trying to seal the win. The Thai scored twice on the power play within the first 10 minutes of play. Ahmad Al Ajmi singlehandedly brought Kuwait back in the game by scoring a hat trick within three minutes, but an empty netter from Teerasak Rattanachot at 57:30 was enough to end the chase. Hong Kong won the battle that could decide about the gold medals 6-3.
