HALIFAX – Dany Heatley became the all-time points leader for Canada’s national team after the 7-0 win over Latvia at the 2008 IIHF World Championship.

Heatley’s assist on Rick Nash’s goal at 32:20 gave Heatley 40 points all-time with Canada. That moved him into first place, one point ahead of Steve Yzerman, who is currently Team Canada’s general manager.

Heatley came into the tournament with 32 points, seven behind Yzerman, but has registered eight points in two games.
