Ufa & Jönköping sold out

Berlin reports 12,000 tickets sold for CHL premiere. Rosters online.

The Champions Hockey League opens with games in Berlin, Prague, Ufa and Jönköping today. Two of the four venues are expected to be sell-outs, while Eisbären Berlin report 12,000 sold tickets out of 13,000 available. The sold-out HV71 vs. SC Bern game will be streamed live on championshockeyleague.com. See below a list of all broadcasters.

Group A: Eisbären Berlin (GER) – Kärpät Oulu (FIN), 19.30 (in Berlin).
12,000 tickets sold, expected attendance around 13,000.

Group B: HV71 Jönköping (SWE) – SC Bern (SUI), 19.30 (in Jönköping).
The club reported on Wednesday morning that all 7,038 tickets are gone. Go to www.championshockeyleague.com to watch this game live with Swedish commentary.

Group C: Salavat Yulayev Ufa (RUS) – Mountfield Ceske Budejovice (CZE) 16.00 (in Ufa).
Salavat reports that they expect a capacity crowd of 8,400 fans.

Group D: Slavia Prague (CZE) – Linköpings HC (SWE) 19.30 (in Prague).

The 12 teams are playing in four, three-team groups. The four group winners advance to the home & away semi-finals (December 12 – January 7). The home & away finals will be played on January 21 & 28.

The next group stage game date is October 22.

The total prize sum – 10 million Euro – is the highest in any European club hockey competition.
