ISSY, France – The French Ice Hockey Association announced its 22-player roster for the Final Olympic Qualification in Oslo, Norway.
National team coach Dave Henderson named two goalkeepers, seven defencemen and 13 forwards, even though, soon after the announcement, it became clear that defenceman Vincent Bachet will miss the event due to a knee injury.
The team is highlighted by three forwards that play in top European leagues. French-Canadian Sébastien Bordeleau of SC Bern plays again for France after playing also in the 2008 World Championship. Also from the Switzerland's A League is HC Fribourg-Gottéron's Laurent Meunier. Yorick Treille, from Czech club Vitkovice Ostrava, rounds out the top trio.
