The International Olympic Committee (IOC) re-launched its website with a new design and several new features for international sports fans on Friday.
The new version of the site has been available as of Friday, to coincide with the start of IOC Congress in Copenhagen. The site has the same address as before, www.olympic.org
. The site features more graphics and an easier navigation system, while still providing all the archival and sport information that viewers have come to expect.
The upcoming Congress in Copenhagen is one of the most widely-anticipated meetings in international sports. Highlighting the agenda is the selection of the host city for the 2016 Olympic Summer Games. Japan's Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama is expected to be in Copenhagen to support Tokyo's bid for the 2016 Games. U.S. President Barack Obama is also expected to attend to bolster Chicago’s bid for the event. Also in the running are Madrid and Rio de Janerio. The vote will be held on October 2.
