Comments: 27 players of all ages participated in the official Global Girls' Game held in Dunedin, New Zealand for the first time ever. Although the official game heads to Japan next, two more games took place also in Christchurch and Auckland, with a final score in the country-wide game 11-9 in favour of Team Blue. In all 71 participants took part in the opening festivities of the World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend, including many who hadn't yet tried ice hockey in the country.

Comments: In the city of Tomakomai, located on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, 31 young women laced up their skates and took part in the second stage of the Global Girls' Game.

Comments: Aided by a group of volunteer referees and coaches, over 30 girls played a close game in Erzurum, the hockey capital of Turkey. Team White edged Team Blue 5-4 to get its first win of the Global Girls's Game.

Comments: In the city of Miercurea Ciuc, 38 women took part in the game, helping to push Team Blue's lead with a 13-2 victory.

Comments: Team White got a big boost in the scoreboard from the girls group in Riga, Latvia. 34 girls participated in the game that saw the Whites shut out the Blues 7-0.

Comments: Team Blue bounces back in Mannheim. The team coached by former national player Maren Valenti beat Team White coached by Isabel Jung 3-2 in a tight game in southern Germany. A colourful group of 22 girls and women of the age from 4 to 42, from beginners to Bundesliga players dressed for the game.

Comments: In the city of Ähtäri located in the middle of Finland a tight game was played between Team Blue and Team White. The final score was 3-3. All together 23 girls aged 10 to 18 were playing. Four coaches, two of them female, were coaching the girls. There was also a female referee Anne Haanpaa, who used to play on the Finnish women’s national team and officiated at Olympics. The game was very even and the players respected the game.

Comments: 20 players from 12- to 37-year-old girls and women participated in this game along with two game officials including Michaela Kudelova, who officiated in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. Team Blue beat Team White despite being behind 1-0 after the first period. Team Blue scored the game winner with three minutes left but all girls had a lot of fun anyway.

Comments: Hungary played the Global Girls’ Game with mixed teams and the first line including former national team players and the second line U12 players. IIHF Council Member and long-time player Zsuzsanna Kolbenheyer led Team White and played together with her 10-year-old daughter, Rozália. 33 players were on the ice.

Comments: 22 players aged 7 to 37 participated in this landmark game with female players from league play in the Malaysian Ice Hockey Federation. The head coach of the Malaysia Men’s and Women’s Teams, Nikolas Sepponen, made a surprise presentation of an autographed jersey of the Team Finland U18 girls’ team to Janne Haapalainen, Founder of the Jazura Girls’ Hockey Club Malaysia. The Malaysian players were excited to have been involved in this first-ever worldwide initiative and thank the IIHF for making it possible.

Comments: Lithuania (Team Blue) played such a game for the first time since there are not that many female players in the country yet and lost to Latvian club team Saga (Team White) 9-2. It was an exciting experience and the Lithuanians hope they can next year build two teams for the event and have more girls playing hockey in the country.

Comments: Great Britain's Team White earned a 1-0 win against Team Blue. The two sides were made up from a GB girls' development squad of the some of the best young talent, aged between 13 and 18?. The game saw the GB Women's head coaches go head to head, twins Cheryl Smith (GB White) and Michelle Smith (GB Blue). Suzanne Pearson scored the only goal of the game.

Comments: The Global Girls' Game ends where hockey began: in Montreal. Le Richelieu in the blue Hockey Quebec jerseys beat Lac St-Louis in the white Canada jerseys 4-2 in the district of Verdun to get Team Blue an other win and extend the aggregate score to 106-83. This is the final score as the first Global Girls' Game came to an end 42 hours after the start in New Zealand.
