ZURICH – Estonian qualifier Viiking Sport Tallinn will not be able to travel to the Continental Cup Group B in Nottingham and will be replaced by Bipolo Vitoria-Gasteiz. Viiking Sport Tallinn won the first-round event of the 2013/2014 IIHF Continental Cup in Belgrade and advanced to the second round but had visa issues for Great Britain with 11 players of Belarusian and Russian citizenship. Therefore the team from Estonia won’t have the minimum number of players available to participate and will not travel to the second-round Group B in Nottingham, Great Britain. The qualifier will be replaced by Spanish champion Bipolo Vitoria-Gasteiz, who has confirmed its participation on Wednesday. Bipolo finished the first-round Group A in Belgrade in second place behind Viiking Sport Tallinn. In the second round of the Continental Cup, Group B’s round-robin will be taking place in Nottingham, Great Britain, and Group C in Dunaujvaros, Hungary, during the upcoming weekend, 18-20 October. On the same weekend the first round of the IIHF European Women’s Champions Cup will be kick off with events in Neuilly sur Marne, France; Liepaja, Latvia; Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia; and Maribor, Slovenia.
