IIHF and National Associations News

Welcome to Ice Hockey

The IIHF is made up of 69 member national associations that govern ice hockey in their territories. All national associations are responsible for the promotion and development of ice hockey in their nation with the IIHF able to provide assistance.

This page will feature stories, information and links about the activities from some of our member national associations.

Belgium

The Royal Belgium Ice Hockey Federation began a “safety jacket” project. For this project they produced fluorescent jackets with the “Ice hockey is for me” logo on them. This is produced for the children's safety when they walk to school, ride their bike or play street hockey.

On February 26th the RBIHF organized its second Girls’ Hockey Day of the 2010-2011 season.

To boost women’s and girls’ ice hockey the federation started organizing promotion days where female ice hockey players of all ages from all Belgian clubs are invited.

The players were divided in different teams for a tournament. A skills challenge and an event to welcome new players were also part of the program.

The Girls’ Hockey Day was hosted at the Yeti ice rink in Eeklo, home of the ice hockey club Yeti Bears, which plays in the National League Division 1.

USA
