BRATISLAVA – Through four days of the 2011 IIHF World Championship, attendance is booming. More than 107,000 spectators have watched the games, 73,461 in Bratislava and 34,134 in Kosice.
All eight Bratislava games so far have been sold-out. The best-attended game at Kosice's Steel Arena has been the Belarus-Canada game, which drew more than 6,000.
The fan village in Bratislava has also been a smashing success. During the Slovakia-Slovenia game on Day One of the tournament, more than 9,000 people paid a visit.
