The Power Rankings are for the enjoyment of IIHF.com readers, and reflect the progress of teams during the IIHF World Championship. They are distinct from the official standings and IIHF World Ranking.

Power Rankings (as of 10 May)

1.		FINLAND You don’t mess with Kiiskinen and Tuppurainen
2.		RUSSIA Hate doing interviews, love beating Denmark
3.		SWEDEN In the dressing room, we sing “The Winner Takes It All”
4.		CANADA Getzlaf’s got game
5.		CZECH REPUBLIC Nedved's got the moves like Jagger
6.		USA Another big win over a country we can't find on the map
7.		SLOVAKIA Like the anthem says, "Slovaks are rebounding"
8.		SWITZERLAND Three goals, and all ye are fallen
9.		NORWAY Mats knows when to pull the Trygg-er
10.		LATVIA We feel no sorrow when we chant "Sarauj!"
11.		GERMANY Can we play Italy again?
12.		BELARUS We beat the USA in the new State of the World’s Mothers report
13.		DENMARK It’s really hard to stop guys named Yevgeni
14.		FRANCE Napoleon would not be impressed
15.		ITALY As a hockey nation, we have great fashion designers
16.		KAZAKHSTAN The problem is we can’t get boiled sheep’s head here
