HELSINKI – Two Swiss players have to travel home due to injuries. Simon Moser and Julien Sprunger won’t be able to play at the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
Moser suffered a knee injury in yesterday’s game against Belarus, in which he scored two goals, when his skate caught a rut. The MRI showed a rupture of the cruciate and collateral ligaments.
Also Sprunger has to travel home as he’s still suffering from a concussion since being hit in an exhibition game. The forward was with the team hoping to recover in time and hadn’t been registered.
The Swiss still have two spots open on their roster and two unregistered forwards in the camp with Michael Liniger (Kloten Flyers) and Thibaut Monnet (ZSC Lions Zurich).
