HELSINKI/STOCKHOLM – The Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced that Nashville Predators forward Patric Hörnqvist will join the national team.
The 25-year-old Stockholm native is expected to play his first game on Saturday against Italy.
It will be his first appearance with the national team since the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and his third World Championship after 2007 and 2008.
With Hörnqvist the Swedes will have two goalkeepers, seven defencemen and 14 forward on the roster, leaving two spots open on the roster for one goalie and one skater.
