The ticket sales to IIHF 2013 World Championship in Stockholm has started of in a positive way. 60 percent of the tickets are sold for the game Sweden against Slovenia. This game has a family theme and the tickets costs 195 kronor on all seats in the Globe arena.
The game on the 9th of May, Sweden against Canada, has also proved popular in the short time tickets has been out for sales.
"More then 20 000 tickets have been booked and sold during the month the tickets have been out for sale. That is more than twice the amount at the same time last year," says Tony Wiréhn, general secretary of the organizing committee.
It is possible to buy tickets for the preliminary round at a cost of 95-795 kronor for adults and 75-195 for children and youth. During the playoffs the prices are 345-1495 kronor for adults. There are children and youth tickets available to the quarterfinals at a cost of 175 or 250 kronor.
"These positive figures are also encouraging because of the fact that we have had a limited marketing of the tickets so far. In December more marketing activities will be activated and we then expect that the sales will take off more," explains Wiréhn.
"The tickets for the playoffs are very much in demand and we are optimistic that all off these games will be sold out. Right now there are only a few tickets left for the final, with more to be released in the coming months."
