Both China and Chinese Taipei started the third day with high hopes after losing their previous games. China took the early lead at 2:23 with a goal from Jian Li, but Chinese Taipei was quick to return two minutes later only to allow China to make it 2-1 at 5:47. In the second period, China came out strong scoring four goals in the first ten minutes of play and adding another marker for the 7-1 score after two periods. Chinese Taipei came back in the third period and shortened the margin to four goals, but China managed to hold on to win with the final score of 8-4. Peng Sun had three and Zhipeng Chen two goals for China with Hungju Lin managing two for Chinese Taipei.
