BRATISLAVA – The Czech Republic registered Michal Frolik before its first game against Latvia tonight.
The 23-year-old forward joins his national team from the Chicago Blackhawks. He notched five points (2+3) in seven playoff games while combining for 70 games (11 goals, 27 assists) for Florida and Chicago in the regular season.
The Kladno native, the tenth overall pick by Florida in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, will play his first World Championship with the men’s national team. He has represented the Czech Republic in four World U20 Championships (one bronze) and three World U18 Championships (two bronze medals).
