MUNICH – The 2010 IIHF World Championship Organizing Committee announced that the capacity for the opening game between USA and Germany has been increased to 76,152 because of the massive fan interest.
The game is expected to break the current world record hockey attendance of 74,554 set in 2001 in an outdoor game between Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.
Due to the increased capacity and thanks to some returned tickets, approximately 1,500 more single-game tickets went on sale on Thursday, but were already sold by Friday.
In addition, the schedule for the opening day has been announced (subject to change):
14:00 | Fan Fest around the stadium including stage program, action stands and catering |
