Former IIHF official from Kazakhstan was 38

The sudden passing of Stanislav Komissarenko shocked the ice hockey family in Kazakhstan. The official died on 19 February and was only 38 years old.

Born on 24 September 1980, Komissarenko devoted his whole life to hockey. In 2001 he started his career as an on-ice official. Between 2003/2004 and 2011/2012 Komissarenko was an IIHF-licensed linesman and officiated in the 2009 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division II Group B.

In 2006 he also started working in in the youth hockey school in Karaganda and in 2015 joined the Ice Hockey Federation of Kazakhstan where he was responsible for the development of the youth championships and officiating.

He is survived by his wife Olesya and their two sons. The funeral will take place tomorrow in Karaganda.
