Utilizing the HDC and HPC camps, the Game Officials’ Program with 38 participants will provide on and off-ice instruction. The linesmen have been selected by the IIHF Officiating Committee based on applications submitted by National Associations and the program will focus on fine-tuning their skills in the IIHF method of officiating the women’s game to best prepare them for future IIHF assignments. The referee program will focus on improving game management, skating and positioning, test the four-man officiating system, and increase their knowledge of fitness training. The program will identify the candidates ready for inclusion in the top group of referees for future assignments and serve to increase the number of game officials in the IIHF pool.
