HALIFAX – The United States have added defenceman Jordan Leopold (Colorado Avalanche) and forward Brandon Dubinsky (New York Rangers) to their roster.
Leopold was member of the 2006 Olympic team and will compete in his fourth World Championship. Dubinsky appeared in all 82 regular-season games for the Rangers during his rookie season in 2007-2008. He will represent the United States for the first time in major international competition.
Captain Jeff Halpern and goalkeeper Tim Thomas have both left the team after having been injured during the 5-4 loss to Canada. Neither player is expected to return for this World Championship.
Finland has filled its roster for the preliminary round with Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Karri Ramo and defenceman Sami Lepisto of the Hershey Bears (AHL).
As previously announced, Saku Koivu will play for Finland as well. His arrival is announced for tomorrow. He will be one of two allowed additions for the qualification round.
