STOCKHOLM – IIHF.com is proud to offer a 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Fan Q&A with Daniel Alfredsson, the captain of Sweden. Submit your question soon!

Known for his excellent two-way play, the 39-year-old centre from the NHL’s Ottawa Senators had a pair of assists in Sweden’s opening 3-1 win over Norway, and added a goal in the 6-4 victory over Denmark.

In 54 career World Championship games through May 10, Alfredsson has 19 goals and 23 assists. At the Worlds, he has twice won both silver (1995, 2004) and bronze (1999, 2001). But the four-time Olympian’s crowning international achievement is Winter Games gold (2006) from Turin.

This product of Frölunda Gothenburg has played 1,131 NHL games to date, and became the 75th player in league history to reach the 1,000-point plateau on October 22, 2010

Feel free to ask Daniel Alfredsson about anything you’ve always wanted to know about him: about representing Sweden, life in the NHL, or his life away from the rink.

Submit your questions in English to [email protected], on Facebook or Twitter.

We’ll pick the best questions to ask Alfredsson, and the answers will be published on IIHF.com.

Please indicate your name and city in the e-mail. Questions can be submitted up to 17:00 on Saturday, May 12 (Central European Time).
