HELSINKI – Three teams registered additional players for the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship on Monday.

Canada and Slovakia welcomed reinforcement from North America.

Hockey Canada registered Detroit Red Wings defenceman Kyle Quincey, whose joining was already announced on Saturday. It will be the first international tournament for the 26-year-old.

San Jose Sharks centre Michal Handzus was also expected to come to Helsinki and the Slovak national team registered him today. He will play his first game of the tournament tonight against the United States.

It will be the sixth World Championship for the 35-year-old, who was part of the World Champion team of 2002.

France completed its roster by registering defenceman Maxime Moisand, who plays in Denmark for the Odense Bulldogs, and forward Loïc Lamperier of the Rouen Dragons. Both players have already been in the camp with the team.

Teams can register up to 25 players (22 skaters, 3 goalkeepers) for the tournament. Additions are possible until two hours before each game until the roster is full.
