Organizing Committee announced an open mascot design competition earlier this winter. All together 20 proposals with design and back story were introduced by participants from all over Europe.

In the end none of the designs was chosen as the official figure to entertain the spectators in the arenas as well as to be used for marketing and merchandising purposes. A professional design agency has been assigned to prepare the design for a mascot that would work with two home countries (Finland & Sweden) and two Championships (2012 & 2013) in a row. Mascot will be published next Autumn.
