STOCKHOLM – The 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Disciplinary Panel ruled that Danish forward Jannik Hansen will be suspended one game due to his hit from behind on Czech player Zdenek Kutlak.

The panel ruled that Hansen's hit included a two-handed shove from behind causing Kutlak to be thrown violently into the boards and sustaining an injury to the head and neck area.

The panel also concluded: "Although there was a minor penalty for boarding assessed for this infraction the panel believes the appropriate call warranted a match penalty as per playing rule 523, Checking from Behind."

Hansen will miss Denmark's game tomorrow against Italy.
